The 82nd Forward Support Battalion (FSB, Brigade Support Battalion (BSB)) is a unit of the United States Army, assigned to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Activated on May 25, 1968, during the Vietnam War, the battalion provided comprehensive logistical support to the 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, in the Republic of Vietnam. Its responsibilities included supply distribution, maintenance, medical services, and transportation, ensuring the brigade's operational readiness. The battalion was deactivated on December 15, 1969, upon redeployment to Fort Bragg.
Throughout its service in Vietnam, the 82nd BSB earned several commendations, including the Meritorious Unit Commendation for the period of March 1 to November 15, 1969, and the Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm. Company A received a Meritorious Unit Commendation for the period of May 25, 1968, to February 28, 1969, and Company C was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation and the Vietnam Civil Actions Medal. These honors reflect the battalion's dedication and effectiveness in providing essential support under challenging conditions.
