This reproduction preserves a GWOT-era Charlie Company, 1st PSYOP Battalion design. The battalion traces its lineage to the 1st Radio Broadcasting and Leaflet Group, organized in 1950, and was redesignated the 1st Psychological Operations Battalion in 1965. By the GWOT era, 1st POB was an airborne PSYOP battalion at Fort Bragg supporting theater-level and tactical information operations.
USASOC historical research documents 1st POB support throughout the U.S. Southern Command area, including long-running work in Colombia and elsewhere in Latin America. During the GWOT period the battalion served under 4th POG and, beginning in 2011, 8th POG. The exact year and deployment associated with this Charlie Company artwork have not been established, so the reproduction preserves the unit design without assigning it to an unsupported mission.
