Frequently Asked Questions
About Airborne Apparel Company
1. Is Airborne Apparel Company veteran-owned?
Yes. Airborne Apparel Company is 100% founded and owned by a U.S. Army Airborne veteran. We are a small, family-operated business located in Osseo, Michigan.
2. Where are your products made?
The final production of everything we sell, with the exception of stickers, takes place in our shop in Osseo, Michigan.
Many of the materials and components used to make our products—including inks, sign blanks, stickers, and production equipment—are made in the United States. We also purchase from other veteran-owned small businesses whenever practical. Materials that cannot be sourced from a U.S. manufacturer are purchased directly from U.S.-based suppliers.
We do not dropship, and we do not import premade finished products. Most items are produced after they are ordered. This allows us to offer a large and constantly growing selection of designs, maintain competitive pricing, and respond quickly to customer requests and demand.
3. Can I pick up my order or visit your shop?
Airborne Apparel Company operates as a production facility, not a retail store. We do not have a showroom, retail counter, or products available for walk-in purchase.
Local pickup is available for qualifying custom orders when arranged as part of the order. Standard online orders are shipped and are not automatically available for pickup.
If you are local to our Osseo facility and would like to request pickup for an online order, contact us before placing the order—or as soon as possible afterward—at support@airborneapparel.com or 517-797-1326. Pickup requests are considered individually and must be approved and scheduled in advance. Please do not arrive for pickup until we have confirmed that your order is complete and provided an appointment time.
Shop visits are handled on a case-by-case basis and by appointment only. Because our facility contains active printing equipment, production materials, customer orders, and a working production floor, we cannot accommodate unscheduled visitors or walk-ins.
An appointment request does not guarantee access to production areas. Visitor access may be limited for safety, security, privacy, production-schedule, or insurance reasons.
4. Are your products officially issued or endorsed by the military?
Airborne Apparel Company is a private business and is not endorsed, sponsored, or operated by the Department of War, the U.S. Army, or another government agency.
Several PT and morale clothing items in our store have been produced at the direct request of active-duty or reserve U.S. Army units. Products created for those units may include the word “Official” in the product title.
The term “Official” applies only at the individual unit level and only to the specific unit that requested the product. It means that the item was created at the request of that unit. It does not mean that the product was requested, approved, issued, or adopted by the U.S. Army as a whole.
None of our products are created at the request of or issued by the U.S. Army.
Products, Sizing, and Care
5. How do I choose the correct size?
Please check the size chart on the individual product page before ordering. Different garment styles and manufacturers may fit differently, so the size you wear in one shirt may not be the best size in another.
As a general guide:
- Standard T-shirts tend to run slightly small.
- Ringer shirts, performance shirts, sweatshirts, and 670-1 coyote shirts generally run true to size.
- Polo shirts generally run large.
For the best comparison, measure a similar garment that already fits you well and compare those measurements with the product’s size chart. Do not rely only on the size printed inside another shirt.
6. What does “670-1 Compliant” mean?
When a product is described as “670-1 Compliant,” that description applies only to the blank T-shirt used to produce the item, including its base color, material, construction, and other manufacturer specifications.
We make a reasonable effort to remain current on the general requirements and guidance contained in AR 670-1 and DA PAM 670-1. However, we cannot remain fully aware of every wear-and-appearance rule, local policy, commander’s guidance, or restriction established at the installation or unit level.
A design that is permitted in one unit or location may not be permitted in another.
It is the servicemember’s responsibility to confirm that the garment and design they select or request comply with all applicable:
- Army regulations
- Installation policies
- Unit policies
- Commander’s guidance
- Standards of good order and discipline
The use of “670-1 Compliant” is not a guarantee that every printed design may be worn in every military setting.
7. How should I wash and care for my shirt?
Unless the product page states otherwise, machine wash apparel in cold water and tumble dry on low heat.
Do not use high heat, and do not iron directly over the printed design. Turning the garment inside out before washing can also help protect the print.
Please refer to the product care card included with every order for additional instructions. Individual product descriptions may include different care requirements depending on the garment or decoration method.
8. What if I do not see my unit, and do you make custom products?
We regularly add new units, schools, organizations, historical designs, and customer-requested products.
If you are looking for a specific unit or an old shirt you remember, send us any information you have. Helpful references include photographs, scans, reunion materials, unit names, approximate dates, and descriptions of the original design.
We also produce custom apparel and other products for:
- Active-duty and reserve military units
- Veteran organizations
- Reunions
- Museums
- Businesses
- Teams and community organizations
Custom pricing, minimum quantities, production time, and artwork requirements depend on the project. Contact us with the product type, estimated quantity, deadline, and any artwork or reference material you already have.
Production and Shipping
9. How long will my order take to produce and arrive?
Our normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time. We are closed on weekends and most major holidays.
Most orders require approximately 3–5 business days for production. Production time includes making, inspecting, packing, and preparing your order for carrier pickup.
Orders placed after 4:00 PM Eastern are treated as having been placed on the following business day. Saturdays, Sundays, postal holidays, and other days when our shop or the shipping carriers are closed do not count as business days.
For example, an order placed at 6:00 PM on Tuesday is treated as a Wednesday order. An order placed Friday evening or anytime during the weekend is treated as a Monday order, unless Monday is a holiday.
Once the carrier receives the package, shipping time depends on the service selected, destination, weather, holidays, carrier volume, and other conditions outside our control.
Selecting Priority Mail or another faster shipping service does not move your order ahead in the production queue. Faster shipping only affects transit time after production has been completed and the package has been accepted by the carrier.
Production may take longer during Christmas, major sales, new product launches, supply disruptions, unusually high order volume, or major Airborne events such as the period leading up to All American Week.
10. What shipping services do you offer, and do you offer free shipping?
Available shipping services depend on the order’s weight, destination, and the options displayed at checkout. Domestic services may include:
- USPS Ground Advantage
- USPS Priority Mail
- UPS Ground
- Other available expedited services
We do not offer USPS First-Class Mail for regular domestic packages. USPS First-Class international service may be available for qualifying international shipments.
Eligible U.S. and APO orders of $99 or more receive free standard shipping. Expedited shipping and other optional services may still require an additional charge.
11. Do you ship to APO addresses and international destinations?
Yes. We ship to APO, FPO, and DPO addresses, as well as many international destinations.
Service members and other customers living overseas should use their APO, FPO, or DPO address whenever possible instead of a local foreign or off-post address. Shipping through the military postal system is generally much less expensive than sending the same order as an international shipment.
International shipping to a non-APO address can be significantly more expensive. International customers may also be responsible for duties, taxes, customs fees, or other charges assessed by their country.
12. I am having trouble selecting “AE” or entering my APO address. How can I fix it?
First, make sure the country is set to United States in the shipping-address section.
When selecting the state or region, try typing the full military-region name rather than only the abbreviation:
- Armed Forces Europe for AE
- Armed Forces Pacific for AP
- Armed Forces Americas for AA
Typing the full name will usually cause the correct option to appear in the selection menu.
If you still cannot enter the address, email us your order details and complete shipping address at support@airborneapparel.com, or call us at 517-797-1326. We will help you correct the information or complete the order manually.
Tracking and Delivery
13. Why haven’t I received an order or shipping confirmation?
Every order is sent the following automated emails:
- Order confirmation
- Shipping confirmation
- Out-for-delivery notification
- Delivery confirmation
These messages are sent to the email address entered by the customer during checkout.
If you have not received an order confirmation, check your spam, junk, or promotions folder. The same applies to shipping and delivery notifications. You should also make sure that the email address entered during checkout was correct.
If no email address was provided, you will not receive order updates. We do not currently send order notifications or customer-service communications through text message or SMS.

14. Why does my tracking say “Label Created”?
We create the shipping label after your order has completed production and is ready to leave our shop.
A “Label Created” status means the package has been packed, labeled, and prepared for shipment. Carrier tracking does not officially begin until the package has been picked up or received and scanned by USPS or UPS.
Carrier pickup and acceptance generally occur between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM Eastern Time on the day the label is created. The first tracking scan may not appear immediately, and some packages may travel to a regional facility before the tracking information updates.
15. Why does my new tracking number show a delivery in another state from months ago?
USPS occasionally recycles tracking numbers. When this happens, a newly assigned tracking number may temporarily display information from an older shipment that was delivered to a different person or location.
There is usually no reason for concern. The old information normally disappears and updates to your correct destination within 24–48 hours after USPS scans your package at its main distribution center.
Please contact us if the tracking information has not corrected itself after 48 hours.
16. What should I do if my package is delayed or the tracking stops moving?
Start by checking the carrier’s tracking page, as it normally contains the most current information available.
Weather, holidays, regional carrier problems, missed scans, routing errors, and unusually high package volume can all cause delays. A package may also continue moving even when no new scans appear online.
If tracking has not moved for several business days, or it has been more than five business days since you received your shipping confirmation, contact us at support@airborneapparel.com or 517-797-1326.
Carrier delays do not automatically qualify an order for cancellation, replacement, or refund. USPS or UPS may need additional time to complete delivery or investigate the shipment, but we will work with you to determine what can be done.
17. My tracking says delivered, but I do not have the package. What should I do?
Please allow two business days before contacting us. Packages are sometimes marked delivered shortly before they are physically placed in a mailbox, parcel locker, mailroom, or other delivery location.
During that time, check:
- Your mailbox
- Your porch, garage, side door, or other delivery areas
- Community parcel lockers
- Your building’s mailroom or front desk
- Family members or others at the address
- Neighbors who may have accepted the package
If the package has not appeared after two business days, contact us at support@airborneapparel.com or 517-797-1326. We will review the tracking information and help determine the appropriate next step.
Once a package has been marked delivered by USPS or UPS, refunds and replacements are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Order Changes, Returns, and Support
18. What should I do if I entered the wrong shipping address?
Contact us as soon as possible at support@airborneapparel.com or 517-797-1326. If the order has not entered production or shipped, we will do our best to correct the address.
Once an order has entered the mail stream, we generally cannot change the address or redirect the package.
If a package is returned because the customer provided an incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable address, we can reship it after the correct address has been confirmed. The customer may be responsible for the additional shipping cost.
If the carrier delivers the package to the address entered by the customer, we are not responsible for replacing or refunding the order. We will still do what we reasonably can to help locate it.
19. Can I change or cancel my order?
Contact us immediately at support@airborneapparel.com or 517-797-1326 if you selected the wrong size, ordered the wrong product, entered an incorrect address, or placed the order by mistake.
If the order has not entered production, we will do our best to make the requested change or cancellation. Because most products are made after they are ordered, changes may not be possible once production has started.
If the order has already shipped, eligible items may still qualify for a return or exchange under our return policy.
20. What is your return and exchange policy?
Eligible products may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of delivery. The item must be unused, unwashed, and unworn aside from trying it on. It must also be returned in the same condition in which it was received.
To begin a return:
- Visit account.airborneapparelcompany.com.
- Log in to your Airborne Apparel Company customer account.
- Select the order and item requiring assistance.
- Choose Request Return.
- Use the notes section to explain whether you are requesting a refund or exchange.
Returns and exchanges are not completed until the item has been received and inspected.
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method and are generally processed within 10 business days after approval. Your bank, credit-card company, or payment provider may require additional time to post the refund.
Stickers and products marked Final Sale cannot be returned or exchanged unless they arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect because of our error.
If you ordered the wrong size, color, style, or product, the customer may be responsible for return shipping, replacement shipping, and any difference in product price.
We do not provide free refund returns for size-bracketing orders. Size bracketing means ordering the same product in multiple nearby sizes with the intention of keeping one and returning the others. Shipping charges may be deducted from these returns, and the refund may be issued as store credit.
If we sent the wrong item or your order arrived damaged or defective, contact support@airborneapparel.com and include:
- Your order number
- A photograph showing the entire item
- A close photograph showing the damage, defect, incorrect size tag, wrong color, or other problem
When the problem was caused by our error, we will cover the eligible replacement or refund and any required return shipping.
21. What should I do if I received the wrong item or my order arrived damaged?
Contact us at support@airborneapparel.com as soon as possible and include:
- Your order number
- A photograph showing the entire item
- A close photograph clearly showing the damage, defect, incorrect size tag, wrong color, or other problem
Photographs allow us to identify the issue and determine the fastest way to correct it.
If the problem was caused by our error, we will cover the eligible replacement or refund and any required return shipping.
22. Can I call your shop?
Yes. Customers are welcome to call our shop at 517-797-1326.
However, we have a very small staff and a busy—and often loud—production floor. Even during normal business hours, your call is likely to go to voicemail.
Please leave a voicemail that includes:
- Your name
- Your telephone number
- Your order number, when applicable
- A brief explanation of the issue
We will return your call or address your concern as quickly as possible. Calls without a voicemail will not be returned because we will not know who called or what assistance is needed.
Repeated calls from the same number without a voicemail may also be identified and blocked by our telephone provider’s spam filter. Leaving one clear message is the best way to receive assistance.
23. How do you handle chargebacks?
Please contact us at support@airborneapparel.com or 517-797-1326 before filing a chargeback with your bank or credit-card company.
We will work with you to resolve problems involving our products or service, including issues caused by carrier delays, delivery problems, or other circumstances that may be outside our direct control.
Chargebacks cause significant harm to small businesses. In addition to losing the disputed amount, a business may be charged additional fees, have funds held during an investigation, and risk restrictions from its payment processor—even when the customer’s order was properly produced and shipped.
If a customer files a chargeback without first informing us of the problem and giving us a reasonable opportunity to resolve it, we will no longer accept future orders from that customer.
The exception is a legitimate fraud situation, such as a stolen card or an unauthorized purchase made without the cardholder’s knowledge.
We take customer concerns seriously and will make a reasonable effort to resolve them. Contacting us first is almost always the fastest and fairest way to address a problem.
