Lay the shirt flat on a level surface without stretching. Smooth out folds, then measure straight across from side seam to side seam, one inch below the armhole seams.
Measure body length from the high point of the shoulder beside the neck to the bottom hem.
Chest width is half the garment circumference. Doubling it gives the measurement around the garment, not a recommended body chest size.
Chest-width manufacturing tolerance: ±0.5 inch.

Unit History & Information
MOS 96R identified the Army’s Ground Surveillance Systems Operators, the Soldiers often remembered by their Ground Surveillance Radar mission and the radio pronunciation “Ninety-Six Romeo.” Their work combined surveillance equipment with fieldcraft, observation, and reporting. A 1997 Army Armor article emphasized that 96R Soldiers needed scout skills in infiltration, intelligence gathering, and reporting as well as an understanding of the terrain limits of line-of-sight radar.
The anniversary design marks the years 1966–2006 and places 17K and 17M alongside 96 Romeo, honoring the community associated with ground surveillance. Fort Huachuca trained Soldiers for the 96R specialty, and recorded assignments include military intelligence battalions in the 82nd Airborne Division, Korea, and Fort Drum. The shirt commemorates that shared surveillance mission and the veterans who carried it out.
