Lay the shirt flat on a level surface without stretching. Smooth out folds, then measure straight across from side seam to side seam, one inch below the armhole seams.

Measure body length from the high point of the shoulder beside the neck to the bottom hem.

Chest width is half the garment circumference. Doubling it gives the measurement around the garment, not a recommended body chest size.

Chest-width manufacturing tolerance: ±0.5 inch.

Unit History & Information

On October 25, 1983, the 1st and 2nd Ranger Battalions conducted a low-level combat parachute assault at Point Salines, Grenada, during Operation Urgent Fury. Their objectives were to secure the airfield, remove obstructions from the runway, and protect American citizens at the nearby medical-school campus. The assault met resistance from defenders who were already prepared for the landing.

After the Rangers secured the airfield, elements of the 82nd Airborne Division arrived by air to reinforce the operation. The Point Salines assault became a defining combat operation for the modern Ranger battalions and demonstrated the role of airborne forces in opening an airfield for follow-on troops.
